Menu C Military MRE's Sale ends Sep 21

Hi,

If you're looking to store up some food, and want it all packaged up and ready to go, MRE's are a good way to go.

I just got an email for a sale at mredepot.com. They are offering free shipping until Sept. 21 for orders over $500. This is a big discount, as these are heavy. Shipping normally can run about 25% of your cost.

*** Important Details: -- Use the promotion code: SHIPFREE
*Good for UPS Ground Service Only
*Good through Midnight Sunday September 21st
*Can not be combined with any other discount
*Order must exceed $500.00
*Promotion Code: SHIPFREE

I have used them before and am very pleased with their service.

This is the one I have ordered. I even tested them by eating through one of the boxes of 12 meals:

I think these are the same that the military uses just without the military wording on them. The boxes even looked just like those I saw FEMA handing out in the Hurricane Ike pictures.

Based on how fast I went through my box, I think one box of 12 could last you about 6 days. About 2 meals a day. I would think you should probably have at least a month's worth of food for each person. If you don't need it, just start eating them in a couple years.

Those are a little different though. There is a difference between the 'military style' and the actual military ones. The Military style is sort of a generic and runs about $10 lower per case.

Most particularly note, there are only 6 menu changes in the generic ones. The Menu C has 12 menu changes. And after going through a full case, you will probably welcome as many changes as you can.

Yeah, they sell some things on ebay. But, the Menu C (Military) version is the one that is in pretty big demand. Recently they didn't have any promotions on them and have charged full price and shipping. Hence the disclaimer on their web site that they put up a few months ago:

PLEASE NOTE: DUE TO TIGHTENING DEMAND, INCREASED COST AND DECREASING/LIMITED SUPPLY ON THESE MRE'S, THIS ITEM WILL NOT QUALIFY FOR ANY DISCOUNT/PROMOTION CODE!

But I did email them back, and they confirmed the free shipping promotion does apply.
